What we do

Here at TASC it's all about our Members. We get involved in all kinds of activities, from building a model of the Transporter Bridge, to raising money for charities like Children in Need, to ice skating in our wheelchairs! Our wonderful sensory room provides different ways to relax, exercise, chill out and have different kinds of therapy.

We even have our own tuck shop, which we run ourselves.

Garden Project

The students from Acklam Grange School helped to plant fruit and vegetables with Members and we had loads of fresh food for our kitchen. The students enjoyed their time here so much that they nominated us for a ‘Developing the Workforce’ award and we were presented with our winner’s trophy on 8 July at a glittering ball.

Wheely Bikes!

In the summer break, we went to the Middlesbrough Cycle Circuit to try out their specialised bikes, trikes and tandems. Some of the bikes incorporate a wheelchair, others have hand-operated pedals.

All the members said they had a great time even though some had not not been on a bike for many years, and it was hard work for some, lunch in the pub afterwards made everyone feel better!
